DescriPtion) Finance: Council Notes: 7'1_0262 Agenda Item No. .3/ CI'TV OF SAN BERL..-4RDINO - REQUEST ~ 4lR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The 1987 Focused Facility Master Plan for the City of San Bernardino Wastewater Treatment Plant identified the need to improve support facilities at the plant. The current facilities, housing the administration, laboratory, warehousing, and an operations control center are inadequate. As the plant capacity expands, additional monitoring and laboratory tests are required, control of the treatment process becomes more complex, and the. need for the additional support facilities becomes even more evident. In lieu of building a new building to accommodate the needs stated above, the Board of Water Commissioners authorized entering into negotiations with the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties to acquire their existing land and buildings, which are located adjacent to the existing treatment plant boundaries. The Blood Bank was in the process of looking for new facilities because they were overcrowded. On February 28, 1990, an Agreement to Convey Real Property was entered into setting forth the terms and conditions for the purchase of two parcels of land and improvements. Maps depicting the location of the parcels are attached hereto. Through the acquisition of the property and improvements, the Water Department obtains buildings with 19,600 square feet of area, which will house all of the needed support facilities. The Board of Water Commissioners, at their regular meeting held on April 17, 1990, unanimously voted to authorize the Secretary to submit the Grant Deed to the Mayor and Common Council for acceptance, and dedicate the property for Water Department use. 75-0264 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 RESOLUTION NO. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 8 SECTION 1. That the City of San Bernardino does hereby accept 9 a Grant Deed from the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside 10 Counties, a California non-profit corporation. 11 SECTION 2. That a copy of the Grant Deed is attached hereto 12 marked Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof as fully as though set 13 forth at length herein. 14 SECTION 3.
