CITY OF SAN BERNA.IIDINO - REQUEST FCu4 COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Staff has identified four (4) Single Family lots which are listed for sale west
of Mt. Vernon Avenue on Second Street (dead ends at railroad). The agency can
acquire these four lots for a total of $40,000 ($10,000 per lot). With construc-
tion financing recently provided by First Federal Savings and Loan for four parcels
elsewhere in the City, and as a result of our educational efforts with the local
private lending comrrunity, it is anticipated construction financing for the lots
in question will be easier to obtain.
The acquisition of lots well suited for the development of Single Family homeowner-
ship is an important component of the City's blight abatement activities, ard enables
households who might, in the ordinary course, be unable to afford to purchase a
home to do so.
This item was placed on the supplemental Agenda of the Community Development
Commission at the request of the Mayor.
I recommend adoption of the form motion.
