Plans for the installation of traffic signals and
lighting, at the intersection of Del Rosa Drive and 9th
have been prepared by the Engineering Division and the
is ready to be advertised for bids. The project
some minor roadway and drainage improvements, in
to the signals and lighting.
Some Edison facilities will have to be relocated to
facilitate construction. Under terms of the Joint Use Agree-
ment with the County, the cost of relocating these facilities
($25,030.17) will have to be borne by the City since we assumed
the provisions of the Agreement upon annexation.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost:

Local Federal-Aid Funds were to be used to finance the
costs incurred for these improvements. However, after funding
two other traffic signal projects, the balance was insufficient
to cover the estimated cost for this project. SANBAG's
Technical Advisory Committee approved the necessary supplemental
funds at their meeting of 1-22-90, in response to Caltrans' new
program to accelerate the obligation of Federal-Aid Funds.
We recommend that the plans be
authorization granted to advertise for bids.
