CITY OF SAN BERN'aRDINO - REQUEST "'.:>R COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Department of Public Services, Refuse Division, Commercial Section
received previous permission to have a refuse routing computer program
designed. It is now complete and installed and awaiting accurate
routing data.
In order to obtain and input the routing information the Department
received permission to and then hired a temporary typist clerk to
input the data and two temporary employees to conduct the survey.
The Department has not been able to maintain the survey with the necessary
consistency or quality with the background experience of temporary
personnel.
The survey is now on hold and the Department requests to hire on a
consultant basis a former Sanitation Route Manager, now retired.
His background and knowledge of the commercial accounts makes him
well qualified to conduct the survey and provide the level of accuracy
which is crucial for the refuse routing system.
