RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINIO AMENDING THE FIRE APPARATUS REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
SCHEDULE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. On June I, 1998 the Mayor and Common Council adopted Resolution No.

1998-130 establishing a certain schedule for fire apparatus replacement by the City of San Bernardino
8

Fire Department contingent on the condition of the respective vehicles and the availability of funds;
SECTION 2. The City of San Bernardino Fire Department request an amendment to the fire
10
apparatus replacement program schedule as follows:

Vehicle ~ Front Line Reserve
Fire Engines 8 years 4 years
Ladder Truck 15 years 5 years
Wildland Apparatus 15 years 5 years
Command Vehicles 7 years or 100,000 miles Oldest front line vehicle will be rotated
into reserve status whenever a new front
line vehicle is acquired.
Specialized Apparatus:
Breathing Support Vehicles 15 years 5 years
Rescue Squad Vehicles 15 years 5 years
Hazardous Materials 15 years 5 years

SECTION 3. The authorization to execute the above referenced amendment is rescinded ifit

is not issued within sixty (60) days of this passage of this resolution.
