CITY OF SAN BERN.DINO - REQUEST F. COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
since 1980, the City has permitted Ca1 Trans access to the Animal
Shelter freezer for the purpose of depositing carcasses removed
from the state roadways. Cal Trans deposits an average of 37 dead
animals per month, a small fraction of the 1400 dead animals from
all other sources. The present cost of the department's dead animal
disposal is $900 per month for D & D Disposal. This does not
include electricity or staff time.
