2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY
ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER
3 1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERN~mNT CODE
PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES.

5 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS,

SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects to
7 avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of
8 Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Section
9 43090 et seq., said provisions setting forth the alternative
10 method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein
II and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of
J2 San Bernardino; and until further order, the assessment of
13 taxable property within the said City, and the levy and collection
14 of taxes for revenue to carryon the various departments of said
15 City and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be
]6 assessed, levied and collected as provided in said Code and the
17 Charter of said City.

SECTION 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, pursuant
19 to Section 43090 of said Government Code, to transmit to the leg-
20 islative body of the City of San Bernardino a written statement
21 showing the total value of all property within said City, includ-
22 ing the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was originally
23 constituted, and all property subsequently annexed thereto, as
24 described in an ordinance of said City concerning annexation
25 Districts Nos. 1 to 327 inclusive.

SECTION 3, Immediately upon the adoption of this ordinance,
27 the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the
28 auditor of the County of San Bernardino.

SECTION 4. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency
2 imeasure necessary for the immediate preservation of the pub-
3 lic health, safety and general welfare and shall go into
4 immediate effect pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of
5 said City. The facts constituting such urgency are that this
6 ordinance involves the taxation of property and the method of
7 the levying and collection of City taxes needed for the anti-
8 cipated revenue to carryon the needs of the City.
9 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
10 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
