I ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER 6.24
OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE, AND PERMITTING SEALED BID
IpUBLIC AUCTIONS FOR DOGS AND CATS WHICH ARE UP FOR ADOPTION.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 6.24.150 Subsection A. of the San
7 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read:
8
"A. The animal control officer may receive and dispose of
9 dogs delivered into his possession by the owner. He shall charge
10 the sum of seven dollars for each dog, and two dollars and fifty
11 cents for each puppy under the age of four months. If the owner
12 requests pickup service, an additional fee of six dollars shall be
13 charged for transporting the dog or puppy. The animal control
14
officer may sell any dog or puppy voluntarily placed in his
!possession for the sum of fifteen dollars, or for the sum of
ItwentY-fiVe dollars if the dog or puppy is sold for research
15

17 purposes. If two or more persons are interested in the purchase
18 of a particular dog or puppy. the animal control officer shall
19 Iconduct a sealed bid public auction. The dog or puppy shall be
20 sold to the highest bidder. All bids must exceed the sale price
21 of fifteen dollars."

SECTION 2. Section 6.24.160 of the San Bernardino Municipal
23 Code is amended to read:

"6.24.160 Disposal of cat or kitten.

The animal control officer may receive and dispose of any cat
26 or kitten delivered into his possession by the owner. He shall
27

2 kitten. The animal control officer may sell any cat or kitten

6 purchase of a particular cat or kitten, the animal control officer
7 shall conduct a sealed bid public auction. The cat or kitten
8 shall be sold to the highest bidder. All bids must exceed the

sale price of ten dollars."
