ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FIXING THE RATES OF
TAXES FOR THE CURRENT YEAR UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN SAID
CITY IN ORDER TO PAY THE BONDED AND OTHER INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF.

I THE MAYOR AND COH1'10N COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
IDO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
I SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied for the present

7 fiscal year, beginning July 1, 1981, and ending June 30, 1982, on
8 all property within the corporate limits of the City of San Bernar-
9 dino, a property tax of .0194 upon each one hundred dollars of the
10 assessed value of such property as assessed by the County Assessor
]] of the County of San Bernardino, as the same may be equalized and
]2 returned as herein provided; and the tax so levied and to be col-
]3 lected shall be applied to the payment of the principal and interes
]4 n the Fire System Bonds, 1962, Interest and Redemption Fund, due
]5 nd to become due or to accrue during the said fiscal year. The
]6 1962 Fire Bonds were approved by the electorate on February 6,
]7 1962, in the total sum of $1,116,000.00. Bonds outstanding as of
18 uly 1, 1981, total $77,250.00, with principal of $75,000.00 and
19 "nterest of $2,250.00 coming due in fiscal year 1981-1982.
SECTION 2. That taxes and special assessment taxes hereby

evied shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner
22
s State and County taxes are collected, and when collected shall
23
paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino.

SECTION 3. The respective amounts hereinbefore designated
25
s being the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars
f the assessed valuation of the property hereinbefore referred
26

hereby fixed as the respective rates of the tax for said
iscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated, which said

1 rates are fixed and designated in the number of cents upon each
2 one hundred dollars, using as a basis the value of said property
3 as assessed by the County Assessor of the County of San Bernardino
4 as the same may be equalized and returned to said Common Council
5 by the County Auditor of said County, as required by the Acts of
6 the Legislature hereinafter referred to.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to immediately
8 transmit to the County Auditor of the County of San Bernardino a
9 certified copy of this ordinance.

SECTION 5. It is hereby found, determined and declared
11 that this ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preser-
12 vation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare in that
this ordinance is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section
13
14
131 of the Charter of said City, and an Act of the Legislature of
15
the State of California, Statutes of 1913 and subsequent amend-
16
ments, by the provisions of which Act this ordinance must take
17
effect before the first day of September, 1981, in order to levy
18
any valid tax for municipal purposes, without which ordinance and
19
tax there will be insufficient revenues or funds on hand to defray
20
the expenses of said City.

SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
22
force immediately after its passage and approval.

adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
