ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO WHEREBY SAID CITY
ELECTS TO AVAIL ITSELF OF THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER
1 OF DIVISION 4 OF TITLE 4 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE
PERTAINING TO THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF PROPERTY TAXES; AND
DECLARING ITS URGENCY.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of San Bernardino hereby elects to
avail itself of those provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of
Division 4 of Title 4 of the California Government Code, Section
43090 et seq., said provisions setting forth the alternative
method for the levy and collection of City property taxes wherein
and whereby the same are levied and collected by the County of
San Bernardino; and until further order, the assessment of taxable
property within the said City, and the levy and collection of
taxes for revenue to carryon the various departments of said City
and to pay the bonded and other indebtedness, shall be assessed,
levied and collected as provided in said Code and the Charter of
said City.
SECTION 2. The County Auditor is hereby requested, pursuant
to Section 43090 of said Government Code, to transmit to the leg-
islative body of the City of San Bernardino a written statement
showing the total value of all property within said City, includ-
ing the "Old City" as the City of San Bernardino was originally
constituted, and all property subsequently annexed thereto, as
described in an ordinance of said City concerning Annexation
Districts Nos. 1 through 334 inclusive.
SECTION 3.
Immediately upon the adoption of this ordinance,
the City Clerk shall file a certified copy thereof with the

auditor of the County of San Bernardino.
SECTION 4. This ordinance is adopted as an urgency measure
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health,
safety and general welfare and shall go into immediate effect
pursuant to Section 131 of the Charter of said City. The facts
constituting such urgency are that this ordinance involves the
taxation of property and the method of the levying and collection
of City taxes needed for the anticipated revenue to carryon the
needs of the City.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
