HC-362 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER 2.76 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE THAT COUNCIL COMMITTEES MAY CONSIDER ITEMS OF BUSINESS NOT SPECIFICALLY REFERRED TO THEM UPON MAJORITY APPROVAL OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 2.76 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code lis amended to read: "CHAPTER 2.76 COUNCIL COMMITTEES 2.76.010 Powers of Council committees. Any committee appointed by the Common Council from among its membership shall have power to investigate, study, take testimony, research and make appropriate recommendations to the Mayor and Common Council concerning any matter referred to such committee by the Mayor and Common Council, and any other item of City business which the committee, upon majority approval of its members, deems proper for review or recommendation. 2.76.020 Notice of meetings. Each Council committee shall give reasonable notice of the time and place of its meetings and shall provide a copy of its agenda and attachments to the Mayor, City Administrator, City Attorney and such other City officials as it may deem advisable. At any time that such committee, by majority approval, decides to review any other item of business not referred to it, the committee shall notify the Mayor and City Administrator of that decision and shall include such item in its minutes for placement on the next Council agenda. Reasonable advance notice shall be given when feasible. I ~ . MC-362 - 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 .' . . . . . , .. . . 1 2.76.030 Information from City personnel. 2 Upon the referral of any matter by the Mayor and Common 3 ICouncil to a Council committee, whether standing, permanent or Itemporary, or when any such committee has determined by majority ivote to inquire into any other item of business not referred to lit, such Council committee shall have power to request, upon giving reasonable notice, any department head, division head, 4 5 6 7 8 officer or employee of the City to appear before it to provide 9 information, data or testimony and each department head, division 10 head, officer or employee shall comply with such request in a 11 reasonable and timely manner.
