ORDINANCE: OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ESTABLISHING A
MORATORIUM ON EFFECTIVE DATE OF INCREASED PARKING REQUIREMENTS
IMPOSED BY ORDINANCE NO. MC-381 AS TO CERTAIN BUILDINGS, AND
REINSTATING FORMER PROVISIONS AS TO THOSE BUILDINGS.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections
19.56.200, 19.56.210, 19.56.220, 19.56.240, and 19.56.310, the
increased parking requirements imposed by those sections of the
San Bernardino MunicipAl Code shall not apply to buildings
located in the Parking District, for which construction,
renovation or [Jtrll,:tural expansion plans have been filed for
review of plans within a period of one hundred eighty dRYS
commencing on the effective date of this ordinance. The
increased parking requirements imposed by those sections shall
continue to be inapplicable to such buildings so long as the
construction, renovation or structural expansion proposed is
actively being pursued. This exemption shall become void upon
the passage of a one hundred eighty day neriod durinR which
construction, renovation or structural expansion is not being
actively pursued, in which event the standards established by
Ordinance No. MC-38l shall be effective as to such buildings.
Exemption From the requirements of Ordinance No. MC-381 as
provided in the provisions set forth above shall be granted only
after application to the Planning Department and following notice
to all affected parties and after public hearing on the question
of the granting of said exemption.
Where a building in the parking district has had its
exterior renovated pursuant to a plan approved by the Planning

Department, and such renovation is commenced within one hundred
eighty days from the effective date of this ordinance, and is
completed within one year from the commencement of such
renovation, said building shall thereafter be exempt from the
provisions of Section lQ.56.200, 19.56.210, 19.56.220, 19.56.240,
and 19.56.330, provided an exemption is granted as specified
herein. Grant of an exemption pursuant to the provisions of this
paragraph shall be made only after notice to all affected parties
and after public hearing on the question of the grant of said
exemption.
SECTION 2. The provisions of Section 19.56.200 of the San
Bernardino Municipal Code, as they existed prior to the amendment
by MC-3Sl, shall be effective as to buildings exempted from the
increased parking requirements imposed by MC-38l, as provided in
Section I hereof. Provisions of Sections 19.56.210, 19.56.220,
19.56.230, 19.56.240 and 19.56.330 as they existed prior to the
I changes effected by Ordinance No. MC-3S1 will also apply to the
buildings exempted from the increased parking requirements
imposed by Ordinance No. MC-38l, during the period of such
exemption.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall apply only to buildings for
which construction, renovation or structural expansion plans bave
been filed for plan checking witb the City of San Bernardino on
lor before June 30, 1985, and shall apply to those buildings only
