OoA;

Agree. 89-573
MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.
OF SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY. CALIFORNIA
Bernardino;
February 26, 1990
FROM: KATHRYN H. PICHETTE, Director
Office on Aging
SUBJECT: AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO COUNTY AGREEMENT NO. 89-573 BETWEEN THE COUNTY
OFFICE ON AGING AND THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FOR FY 1989-90 (OoA)
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Amendment No. 1 to County Agreement 89-573 between the County Office
on Aging and the City of San Bernardino for the administration of a senior
nutri tion program, increasing the agreement amount by $34,000 from $177,190
to $211,190 for the period of July I, 1989 through June 30, 1990.
BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 1989 the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 89-573 with
the City of San Bernardino to provide nutrition services for seniors in FY
1989-90.
Unallocated and OTO funds in the amount of $34,000 have recently become
available and the Office on Aging has determined that the Contractor needs
to increase their raw food budget, replace a meal delivery vehicle and conduct
various kitchen renovation projects.
This action would allow the Contractor to increase their raw food purchasing
capability, which would also insure that the food quality would be maintained.
Food quality is important if optimal meal participation is to continue at each
location. In addition, the Contractor needs to conduct various renovation
and/or painting in a central kitchen production area, and finally, a meal
delivery vehicle with excessive mileage would be replaced.
REVIEW BY ADVISORY BOARD/OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
The Senior Affairs Commission Executive Committee approved this FY 1989-90
contract amendment on November 16, 1989. This amendment has also been reviewed
and approved by Contract Compliance, Risk Management and Deputy County Counsel
W. Andrew Hartzell.
FINANCIAL DATA:
Adequate appropriations and revenue have
FY 1989-90 budget to meet the cost of this
cost to the County.
