HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-219 1 RESOLUTION NO. 92-219 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 3 FOR THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES (ABANDONED VEHICLES) ON SAID PROPERTIES. 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, pursuant to its authority under Chapter 8.36 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code, did lawfully give notice of and thereafter abate public nuisances found to exist on the properties listed below; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, the Director of Facilities Management Department served notice on all property owners of the abatement costs for removing abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, and/or inoperable vehicles or parts thereof from the property; and WHEREAS, opportunity for a hearing of the Board of Building Commissioners to protest the abatement costs was afforded the property owners, with no response forthcoming; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Common Council confirm and adopt as special assessments, the following abatement costs which have been incurred by the City for the abatement of public nuisances found to exist on the following properties; Assessment 23 Case No. Location Owner's Name Amount of Assessment Assessor's Number 24 92-VAP-0122-01 25 92-VAP-0152-02 0154-232-12 240 E. 42nd St. Gordon L. Whyte $ 174.00 0146-031-23 1 1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 2 FOR THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES (ABANDONED VEHICLES) ON SAID PROPERTIES. 3 4 SECTION 2. The above assessments shall be paid to 5 Facilities Management Department, basement of City Hall, 300 No. 6 "D" Street, San Bernardino, CA 92418, within thirty (30) days 7 after notice of this resolution is mailed to all parties with an 8 interest in the above properties. All assessments not fully paid 9 in thirty (30) days shall become a lien on the property pursuant 10 to the San Bernardino Municipal Code and shall be collected as a 11 special assessment thereon. 12 SECTION 3. If the above assessment is not paid as 13 hereinabove provided, the City Clerk is directed to file a 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 certified copy of this resolution with the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, directing that said assessment be entered as a lien against the property as it appears on the current assessment rolls. The assessment shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as the general property taxes for the City of San Bernardino including penalties and interest for delinquent payments. The City Clerk shall also present for recording appropriate notices of the imposition of these liens with the County Recorder.
