HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-350 1 RESOLUTION NO. 95-350 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE 3 CALIFORNIA HEALTHY CITIES PROJECT WHEREAS, the Western Consortium for Public Health has initiated the California Healthy cities Project to contribute to 5 the quality of life in cities and ultimately the health status of their residents; and 6 7 4 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino is committed to improving the quality of life for all its residents; 8 WHEREAS, earthquakes and other natural disasters are inevitable events in southern California; 9 WHEREAS, disaster preparedness greatly reduces the likelihood 10 of serious injury or death resulting from earthquakes; 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 WHEREAS, the city of San Bernardino's Healthy cities steering Committee, made up of concerned residents, has developed a program of community disaster preparedness called SAFE (Safety Actions For Earthquakes) ; 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL: APPROVE THE APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CALIFORNIA HEALTHY CITIES PROJECT / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / '. //,- ,'-",~ "J.;>t(j 1 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO HEALTHY CITIES PROJECT 2 3 4 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly 5 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San 6 Bernardino at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 7 16th day of October 1995, by the following vote, to wit: , 8 Councilmembers 9 NEGRETE 10 CURLIN 11 HERNANDEZ 12 OBERHELMAN 13 DEVLIN 14 POPE-LUDLAM AYES NAYS ABSTAIN ABSENT x x x x x x 15 MILLER 16 17 18 19 20 x ~~ , City' Clerk ' The foregoing resolution is hereby approved this Icrl:!. day of , 1995.
