RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TWO (2) SEPARATE
3 CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO FOR (1) EQUIPMENT AND USER ACCESS INTO THE NATIONAL LAW
4 ENFORCEMENT AND CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATION
SYSTEMS (NLETS & CLETS); AND (2) EQUIPMENT AND USER ACCESS INTO THE
5 SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT CENTRAL NAME INDEX (CNI).

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City
9
two (2) contracts between the County of San Bernardino and the City
10

of San Bernardino.
The first contract is for equipment and user
access into the Nati9nal Law Enforcement Telecommunication System
12

(NLETS) and the California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System
14
(CLETS), a copy of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and
15
incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at
16
length.
The second contract is for equipment and user access into
the Sheriff's Central Name Index, a copy of which is attached
17

hereto marked Exhibit "B" and incorporated herein by reference as
19
fully as though set forth at length.

SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above-
21
referenced agreement is rescinded if the parties to the agreement
22
fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage of this
23
resolution.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT 95-1062 WITH THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO FOR ACCESS TO THE CALIFORNIA LAW
ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM (CLETS)
AND MAINTENANCE OF RELATED EQUIPMENT.
RECOMMENDATION:
SUBJECT:
Approve first amendment to Contract 95-1062 with the City of San Bernardino for
access to the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System and
maintenance of related equipment.
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:
Contract 95-1062 with the City of San Bernardino is being amended to revise the fee
schedule for FY96/97 to ensure proper remuneration to the County.
REVIEW BY OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
This amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by Deputy County Counsel
Kevin Norris.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The $7,387 in revenue generated by this amendment was included in the Sheriff's
Department FY96/97 Budget. No additional cost to the County.

Except as amended, all other terms and conditions of this contract remain as stated therein.
Any provisions on the reverse side and referenced attachments hereof constitute a part of this contract and are incorporated
herein in full.

SUBJECT: SECOND AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT 95-282 WIm THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO FOR ACCESS TO THE COUNTY'S
COMPUTERIZED DATA FILES.
RECOMMENDA TlON:
Approve second amendment to contract 95-282 with the City of San Bernardino for access to
the County's computerized data files and maintenance of related equipment.
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:
The County provides teleprocessing services to various cities throughout the County in order
to promote effective regional law enforcement through the cooperative use and maintenance
of the County's computerized data files.
This contract amendment updates the cost to the City of San Bernardino for FY 96/97 to
ensure proper remuneration to the County.
REVIEW BY OTHER DEPARTMENTS:
This amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by Deputy County Counsel,
Kevin Norris.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The $21,432 in revenue generated by this amendment was included in the Sheriff's
Department FY 96/97 Budget. No additional cost to the County.

SECOND AMENDMENT
Contract 95-282, with the City of San Bernardino, is hereby amended, effective July 1, 1996, as
follows:
1. Schedule A, referred to in paragraphs 7 and 16, is replaced by the attached Schedule A,
increasing the cost of this contract by $187/month.
2. Paragraph, 3, f, which reads as follows, is permanently deleted from the text of this contract:
3. f. CONTRACTOR agrees to update CNI for all law enforcement related incidents
reported within its jurisdiction in a timely fashion to insure the integrity of CNI
and promote regional cooperation and effectiveness in law enforcement. (For the
first year of this contract, CONTRACTOR will not be required to comply with
this section 3 (t). The condition will be subject to renegotiation in the future).
Except as amended, all other terms and conditions of this contract remain as stated therein.
