A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT FUNDS
FOR THE CALIFORNIA OIL RECYCLING ENHANCEMENT ACT (ACT) (STATUTES OF 1991,
CHAPTER 817) for the following project:

EXTENSIVE PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN PROMOTING THE PROPER
4 DISPOSAL OF USED OIL PURCHASE OF NECESSARY EQUIPMENT.

WHEREAS, the people of the State of California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds
6
7 to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage
8 recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and
9 WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the responsihility
10 for the administration of the program with the state, selling up necessary procedures governing application
11 by cities and counties under the program: and
12 WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for development of
13 the project;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
15
Bernardino authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management
16
Board for a 1996/98 Used Oil Opportunity Grant, Third Cycle. The Director of Puhlic Services, or their
17

designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of San Bernardino all
necessary applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes
19
of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application,
