Home My WebLink About1998-230 I RESOLUTION NO. 98-230 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TWO (2) SEPARATE 3 AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACTS 95-1062 AND 95-282 BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FOR (1) EQUIPMENT AND USER 4 ACCESS INTO THE NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS (NLETS & CLETS); AND (2) 5 EQUIPMENT AND USER ACCESS INTO THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT CENTRAL NAME INDEX (CNI). 6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY 7 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 8 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed 9 to execute on behalf of said City two (2) amendments to existing contracts between the County of San 10 Bernardino and the City of San Bernardino. The first amendment amends Contract 95-1062 relating II to equipment and user access into the National Law Enforcement Telecommunication System 12 (NLETS) and the California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS), a copy of which 13 is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" and incoporated herein by reference as though fully set forth 14 at length_ The second amendment amends Contract 95-282 relating to equipment and user access into 15 the Sheriff's Central Name Index, a copy of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "B" and 16 incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at length. 17 SECTION 2. In turn, the Department contracts with these agencies to spread the cost of the system among the agencies using the system. Contracts for CLETS access are amended annually to revise the fee schedule and ensure proper remuneration to the County. REVIEW BY OTHERS: These contract amendments have been reviewed by the County Administrative Office and have been reviewed and approved as to form by Deputy County Counsel Kevin L. Norris. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Revenue generated by these contracts, in the amount of $38,360, fully offsets the cost of providing the service. RECOMMENDATION: Approve Fourth Amendment to Contract No. 95-282 with the City of San Bernardino for access to the County's computerized law enforcement data files and maintenance of related equipment. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The County provides teleprocessing services to various cities throughout the County in order to promote effective regional law enforcement through the cooperative use and maintenance of the County's computerized data files. These contracts are amended annually to revise the fee schedule to insure proper remuneration to the County.
