RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT
TO A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, AND ClllLDREN'S NETWORK

Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows:

SECTION I

(a) The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to

execute, on behalf of the City, the First Amendment to the agreement for Community
13
Development Block Grant funding with Children's Network, which amendment is attached
14
hereto as Exhibit "I ", and is incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at length,
15
The First Amendment provides for the granting of Community Development Block Grant funds
16

in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000),
18
SECTION II

(a) The authorization to execute the above referenced amendment is rescinded if the
20
parties to the agreement shall fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage of the
21
Resolution,

FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
PUBLIC SERVICE AGREEMENT
TIllS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 97-111 referred to as ("Amendment"),
is made and enteredintothis~ day of FEBRUARY 1998 by and between the CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, a Municipal Corporation, referred to as ("City"), and CHILDREN'S
NETWORK, a nonprofit community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and
Subrecipient agree as follows:
WITNESSETH
Community Development Block Grant
Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 97-111,
dated JULY 1. 1997, referred to as ("Agreement"), for a FAMILY CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE.
and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the
subrecipient's completion of the services; and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to increase the amount of Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND AND NO/I00
Dollars ($1,000.00) as part of the Fiscal Year 1996/1997 Mid year Reallocation process approved
on January 12, 1998.
Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the
mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows:

2. Change the first sentence in Section 2 Payments
City shall reimburse Subrecipient for allowable costs, incurred under the scope of this
Agreement within applicable Federal regulations, which have not been paid for. Reimbursement will
be made, at least on a monthly basis, and the total of all reimbursements will not exceed NINETEEN
THOUSAND AND NO/I00 ($19,000.00).
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be
executed on the date and year first hereinabove written.

Family Child Care Assistance
SCOPE OF SERVICES
1. Funds will be used for a portion of the salaries/fringe benefits for a child care
coordinator to assist low-income families in obtaining child care assistance,
2. Total funding is not to exceed $19,000.
