RESOLUTION NO. ~-144 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR THE CITY'S 800 MHz VOICE/DATA BACKBONE, FOR MDT MAINTENANCE, FOR DISPATCH CONSOLE MAINTENANCE AND FOR USER EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO'S 800 MHz GROUP. BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1. That Common Council approve the MIS Department's request and authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement to purchase a maintenance contract for the City's 800 MHz voiceldata radio backbone, for the City's Police and Fire dispatch console maintenance, for Police and Fire MDC/MDT maintenance and for user radio equipment maintenance from the County of San Bernardino's 800 MHz Group (A govemment agency). SECTION 2. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $26,880.00 for Citywide 800 MHz Voice/Data Backbone maintenance services. SECTION 3. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $60,450.00 for Police and Fire Dispatch Console maintenance services. SECTION 4. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $61,704.00.00 for Citywide 800 MHz user equipment maintenance services. SECTION 5. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $41,700.00.00 for Police 9100-1 I MDT maintenance services. SECTION 6. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $9,600.00 for Fire MDC user radio air-time services. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $12,000.00 for time and materials repairs on City VHF radio equipment. SECTION 10. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $27,512.00 for radio rack space and circuit rental. SECTION 11. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a purchase order for $31,500.00 for vehicle electronic equipment strip and installs. SECTION 12. That the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Director of MIS, or her designated representative, to sign the maintenance agreements for these services. MCDONALD, INTERIM CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER INFORMATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO RACK SPACE AND CIRCUITS AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO RECOMMENDATION: Approve Amendment No.2 to license agreement 97-701 with the City of San Bernardino for rack space and circuits use at Little Mountain. This amendment changes the term to remain in effect until terminated by either party with thirty days written notice effective July 1, 1999 and recognizes rate changes effective for FY 1999-00. The value of services from this agreement is worth approximately $45,740 annually, this is an $11,128 increase from previous year. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Information Services Department (ISD) provides a variety of contract communication services to local municipalities in support of the county's public safety communication network. These contract services include leasing unused space at county maintained communications facilities for placement of customer-owned equipment, providing point to point microwave communication circuits, and maintenance of customer-owned public safety equipment. Currently the County has three service agreements with the City of San Bernardino that provide a variety of electronic communication services. These include radio access, rack space and equipment services. Approval of amendment NO.2 to agreement 97-701 will provide for ongoing rack space and circuits services to the City of San Bernardino and will bring consistency to the terms of all ISD agreements with the City of San Bernardino. These services are provided to the City of San Bernardino on a fully cost recoverable basis. REVIEW BY OTHERS: Deputy County Counsel, Jean Rene Basle reviewed the amendment for legal form on May 20, 1999. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The service revenue generated from this agreement, estimated at $34,112 for FY 1998/99 and $45,740 for FY 1999/00, is included in lSD's Internal Service Fund lAM-MHZ budget. There is no impact to local cost.
