3 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, SUCCESSOR TO THE SOUTH SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY WATER
4 DISTRICT, ASSESSING PROPERTIES WITHIN THE PREVIOUS DISTRICT
BOUNDARIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,525 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000/2001.

WHEREAS, the people of the South San Bernardino County Water
7 District (District) voted in 1958 to incur a bond indebtedness of
8 $400,000 for the purchase of certain improvements of the District;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, the District has issued and sold Series "C" Waterworks
11 bonds in the amount of $150,000; and
12
WHEREAS,
the District, pursuant to the Cortese/Knox Local
13 Governmental Reorganization Act
(Government Code Section 5600),
14 merged with the City of San Bernardino effective August 1, 1991; and
15
WHEREAS, a condition of the merger includes that the City of
16 San Bernardino shall be the successor agency within the jurisdiction
17 of the Board of Water Commissioners, with the successor agency
18 assuming
all
rights,
responsibilities,
properties,
equipment,
19 contracts, assets and liabilities, and functions of the District;
20 and
21
WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino requires the total sum of
22 $13,525 for the principal and interest payment during 2000/2001.
23 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of
24 the City of San Bernardino to assess all assessable parcels within
25 the boundaries of the previous District for the total amount of
26 $13,525 for fiscal year 2000/2001, to require the County of San
27 Bernardino Auditor/Controller to compute the tax rate, and to
28 collect said sum through the County of San Bernardino Tax Collector.
