HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-326 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-326 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR URBAN RECREATIONAL AND CULTURAL CENTERS, MUSEUMS, AND FACILITIES FOR WILDLIFE EDUCATION OR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM UNDER THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR RENOVATION OF SANTA FE DEPOT. WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers, Museums and Facilities for Wildlife Education or Environmental Education Program, which provides funds to the State of California for grants to cities, counties, non-profit organizations, and federally recognized California Indian Tribes; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State and grant projects shown above, setting up necessary procedures; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant's governing body to certify by resolution the approval of the application before submission of said application to the state; and WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino will enter into a contract with the State of California for the project; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Approves the filing of an application for local assistance in the amount of $750,000 from the Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers, Museums, and Facilities for Wildlife or Environmental Education Grant Program under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Act of 2000, for renovation of the Santa Fe Depot; and 2001-326 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SECTION 2. Certifies that the City of San Bernardino has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and SECTION 3. Certifies that the City of San Bernardino has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the general provisions contained in the contract shown in the procedural guide, and SECTION 4. Appoints Deputy DirectorlCity Engineer as agent for the Santa Fe Depot project to execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, and payment requests in the processing and administration of the $750,000 application.
