RESOLUTION NO. 2002-343

6 WHEREAS, the HES Program provides funds for safety improvements on any public
7 road, any public surface transportation facility, any publicly owned bicycle or pedestrian
8 pathway or trail, and for any traffic calming measure, which eliminate or reduce the number and
9
severity of traffic accidents at locations selected for improvement;
10
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that District 8 agencies, which includes Riverside and San
11
12 Bernardino Counties, may receive a total of $1,414,000 to fund their HES Projects this fiscal
13 year; and
14 WHEREAS, The City has four projects for the FY 2004/2005 HES funding cycle; the
15 projects, which require a 10% local match, are listed as follows:

. Rialto Ave. at Meridian Ave: New traffic Signal $15.000. $135,000 $150,000
Total HES project funding breakdown: $40,925 $ 368,325 $409,250
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the
City of San Bernardino hereby ratify the submission of the above-referenced four project
applications for FY200412005 Hazard Elimination Safety Program Funding.
