HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-142 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2002-142 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF FIVE PROJECT APPLICATIONS FOR THE THIRD FUNDING CYCLE OF THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (SR2S) PROGRAM. WHEREAS, On October 2, 2001, Governor Davis signed Senate Bill 10 (SB 10/SOTO), extending the Safe Routes to School program for three more years to January 1,2005. The SR2S Program is a construction program that is intended to improve and enhance the safety of school pedestrians and bicycle facilities and related infrastructure. It is anticipated that District 8 agencies, which includes Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, may receive approximately $2,000,000 to fund their (3rd cycle) SR2S Projects this fiscal year. WHEREAS, The City has nominated five projects for the current funding cycle of the SR2S Program. The projects, which require a 10% local match, are listed as follows: Local Match SR2S Funds Total Cost I. Missing Links Sidewalk Project: Install sidewalks $22,500 2. San Bernardino High School: Install traffic signal $12,000 3. Florescent School Zone Signs: Install city-wide $14,500 4. San Gorgonio High School: Install traffic signal $12,000 5.
