SIDE LETTER TO RESOLUTION NO. 2001-94 FOR POLICE SAFETY MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES The following sets forth the side letter to Resolution No. 2001-94, for full-time, regular active Management and Confidential and Unclassified Employees. This side letter amends language to Section I, PERS, Safety Employees, Subsection 5, of the Management and Confidential Employee Compensation and Benefits Plan. I. PERS Safetv Emplovees: (Amend) 5. Effective as soon as possible following adoption ofthis side letter, the City will establish a tax-qualified defined benefit plan to provide supplemental retirement benefits based on the difference between CalPERS' 3% @ 55 Plan and 3% @ 50 Plan for Police Safety Management employees with 20 or more years of service effective January 1, 2004. This side letter shall be in effect until December 31, 2005. Until that time, the costs associated with this plan will be paid by the City. Police Safety Management employees' share of ongoing costs after December 31,2005, will be subject to future discussions.
