HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-141 , . 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 RESOLUTION NO. 2003-141 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO RATIFYING THE SUBMITTAL OF THREE PROJECT APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOURTH FUNDING CYCLE OF THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (SR2S) PROGRAM. WHEREAS, On October 2,2001, Governor Davis signed Senate Bill 10 (SB 10/SOTO), extending the Safe Routes to School Program for three more years to January I, 2005. The SR2S Program is a construction program that is intended to improve and enhance the safety of school pedestrians and bicycle facilities and related infrastructure. It is anticipated that District 8 10 agencies, which include Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, may receive approximately 11 $2,000,000 to fund their (4th cycle) SR2S Projects this fiscal year. 12 13 WHEREAS, The City has nominated three projects for the CUITent funding cycle of the 14 SR2S Program. The projects, which require a 10% local match, are prioritized as follows: 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 Local Match SR2S Funds Total Cost 1. San Gorgonio High School: Install traffic signal: $11,700 $105,300 $117,000 2. Lincoln Elementary School: Install traffic signal: $15,000 $135,000 $150,000 3. Fluorescent School Zone Signs: Install signs city-wide $14,500 $130.500 $145,000 Total SR2S project funding breakdown: $41,200 $370,800 $ 412,000 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the 22 23 City of San Bernardino ratify the submission of three project applications for the fourth funding 24 cycle of the Safe Routes to School Program. 25 26 27 28 , 2003-141 1 2 RESOLUTION...RATIFYING THE SUBMITTAL OF THREE PROJECT APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOURTH CYCLE OF THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM 3 4 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the Mayor 5 and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a j t. regular meeting thereof, held on 17 18 19 (I(~/~.~~ R~el G.
