RESOLUTION NO, 2003-70
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE
CODE ENFORCEMENT GRANT PROGRAM,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS
SECTION I, The City of San Bernardino (hereinafter referred to as "City") is a public
entity established under the laws of California and empowered to enter into an agreement to
receive State funds to promote code enforcement efforts,
SECTION 2, The City wishes to apply for and receive an allocation of funds through
the Code Enforcement Grant Program,
12 SECTION 3, The California Department of Housing and Community Development
(hereinafter referred to as the "State") has issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for
the Code Enforcement Grant Program established by SB 1227 Burton (Chapter 26 of the
Statutes of 2002) Health and Safety Code section 53533 a (6), Pursuant to the statute, HCD is
authorized to approve funding allocations for the program, subject to the terms and conditions
of the NOF A and program application forms,
SECTION 4, The City shall submit to HCD an application to participate in the Code
Enforcement Grant Program in response to the NOFA issued February 14, 2003 which will
request a funding allocation in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the purchase of capital
assets identified in the application to be used in the City of San Bernardino, The application
also commits the applicant to use, support, and maintain the capital assets acquired with the
grant funds for at lease three years,

I SECTION 5. If the application for funding is approved, the City hereby agrees to use the
2 funds for eligible capital asset(s) in the manner presented in the application as approved by HCD and
3 in accordance with the NOFA and application package. It may also execute any and all instruments
4 required by HCD for participation in the Code Enforcement Grant Program.
5 SECTION 6. Mayor Judith Valles is authorized to execute in the name of the City, an
6 Agreement, and other documents necessary or required by for participation in the Code Enforcement
7 Grant Program, subject to the approval of the Common Council.

RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT
FUNDING UNDER THE COMMUNITY CODE ENFORCEMENT PILOT PROGRAM,
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Mayor and
Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a regular meeting thereof, held on the
