HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-0361 2 3 4 5 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-36 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ESTABLISHING AND NG FAIR MARKET VALUE AND SALES PRICE OF $22,500.00 AND kRING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY TO SELL A PORTION OF CITY RTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 7T" STREET AND IS STREET IN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND SETTING A PUBLIC ING TO CONSIDER SAID SALE. 611 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation, is the owner of the 71kereinafter described parcel of real property, generally located at the southwest corner of 7"' D. and Harris Street in the City of San Bernardino, State of California, more fully described 7 10 elow; and 11 WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of said City find and determine that there 12 is no necessity for the City's ownership of said real property; and 13 WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of said City believe it is in the best 14 of the City that said parcel of real property be disposed of at fair market value; and 15 1611 WHEREAS, an appraisal was prepared by James Smothers, General Appraiser, 171lmdicating the amount of Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($22,500.00), as the fair 181 Imarket value of said real property; and 1911 WHEREAS, Mr. Kenneth Owens, has expressed a desire to purchase said real property; �� 21 2211 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.65.030, City owned property valued at less than 231 twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) may be sold without the need for competitive bid, long as the sales price is not less than the fair market value of said real property. 25 11 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 26 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 271V// 1 / 14/04 2004-36 r 1 2 3 4 5 rA RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FAIR MARKET VALUE AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE SALE OF CITY PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 7T" STREET AND HARRIS STREET SECTION 1. The public interest and convenience require the sale of vacant City owned property, approximately 7,500 square feet in area, located at the southwest corner of 7°i and Harris Street in said City. SECTION 2. It is therefore the intention of the Mayor and Common Council of the City San Bernardino to sell said real property to Mr. Kenneth Owens. SECTION 3. The Mayor and Common Council do hereby find that the fair market value property and sales price is Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($22,500.00). 1111 SECTION 4. Notice of the public hearing shall be published in The Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, at least once prior to the public hearing, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 300 North "D" Street, San Bernardino, and shall be posted in at least 3 conspicuous places on the property at least (10) days prior to the hearing.
