State, the City has taken steps to reduce the financial impact
through employee layoffs; closure of library services on Sundays;
closure of the Cultural Center on "E" Street; merging of the
utility center with the Westside Center; cutback of vehicle
usage by department heads; elimination of the Victim Support
program; reduction of meetings and conferences budgets for staff;
elimination of Fire Department equipment; deferred all management
salary increases; and the termination of the move of the Planning
and Building Services department to the City Hall Annex building.
