CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
In a memorandum dated January 25, 1985, Shauna Clark,
City Clerk, requested permission to use no more than
$3,000 from the Election Budget, Account 01-122-216, for
salaries for part time help for Primary Municipal Election
to be held March 5, 1985.
City Clerk Clark proposes to hire three people at the
rate of $5.56 per hour on an as needed basis to work
solely on absentee ballots, for a period of approximately
three weeks. She further proposes to pay these employees
through Accounts Payable rather than through the personnel
process.
In response to questions, City Clerk Clark explained
that in the past, the City Clerk's Office has received
approximately 1,500 absentee ballots for upcoming elec-
tions. Over 2,000 applications for absentee ballots have
already been received for the March 5, 1985 Primary Mu-

necessary to temporarily increase staff in the City
